Hillary + Joey
It’s truly difficult to know exactly where to begin when telling you
about Hillary and Joey’s Wedding day.
Hillary is a friend, talented fellow floral designer, and a true gem of a human being. I could not love Hillary more or think more highly of her new husband (!) and family. Being a part of Hillary and Joey’s wedding day FELT like being a part of their family. The day and it’s special feeling were so beautifully captured by Peyton Curry, and I’m so thankful for these incredible images to share with you.
H+J were initially planning on a Fall 2020 wedding, but once the realities of the Pandemic started to set in, they decided to have an intimate celebration at Hillary’s parent’s home. With a new summer wedding date, we took our initial “moody nudey” color palette full of complex neutrals and deeper fall tones and added some juicy summery colors. We decorated the beautiful sprawling mulberry tree standing sentry in the back yard, just next to where the dinner table was set, waiting for guests to clink their glasses in a toast.
We used hyper-seasonal, almost entirely local flowers for their celebration. We were able to utilize flowers from all of our favorite local farmers, all of whom love Hillary, so it felt extra special to design with their goods. The love bubble for this wedding was immense. It was a true honor to be able to make flowers for a friend and colleague, and I’m so excited to share all of these beautiful colors, details and people with you here.
