Wedding Season Survival Guide

Right now, we're elbows deep in my first (!!!) wedding of 2016. It's going to be a celebration of lavender, sage, and just plain pretty. With wedding season now upon me (and many of my other wedding vendor friends) I've been thinking of ways to take care of myself for this first 13 week straight stretch of weddings.

I developed a few rituals last year in the name of self care, which I've already started prepping myself to repeat this year. Developing a sense of balance during the very busy season can be tough, but it's so important. You need to take a little time and treat yo'self, even if it's in small ways.

I wanted to share a few of the products that help me find balance and relaxation (or motivation!) during the busiest times. I love to celebrate and decompress after a job well done, so all of these things are about unabashed pampering.

My favorite thing to do on a Saturday or Sunday night after a long few days of designing wedding flowers is to take an incredibly hot shower or bath with some really luxurious products. My new favorite product is Fig + Yarrow Floral Milk Bath that I got from the incredible Vessel Brooklyn. Total pampering, incredible scent, I'm sold!

Another thing I ALWAYS do after my de-stressing shower is to use an aromatherapy lotion. This was my favorite last year, and my new bottle just came in!

I'm also a sucker for a really delicious candle. My tried and true choices are always candles from Kate, who owns NA NIN here in Richmond. Kate blends her own scents by hand, and they are just too incredible to not have around. Right now I've got Landslide on my nightstand.

My other current candle obsession also came from Vessel Brooklyn. It's in this incredible rose gold-colored vessel, and smells like total HEAVEN. It's musky and sensual like a tuberose, but also has a fresh, invigorating green quality to it. OBSESSED.

If you've got some busy times ahead or want to treat someone you know and love to something special, you cannot go wrong with any of the things mentioned above. TREAT YO'SELF!
