I don't think it's often that we allow ourselves to truly enjoy and admire the things we make. Why is that? I know, like many others, that I am able to immediately pick out the flaws in the things I do, rather than admiring the victories. If it's so easy to point out what should have been done differently, why can't it be just as easy to pat ourselves on the back for our accomplishments? I'm proud as hell of the work in these images, and I'm looking forward to growth and creating mniore beautiful things.
Nikki, Ashley and I have been waiting to share these images for quite a long time. The Shoot Share is something that these two fab ladies (ladies that I am lucky enough to call friends) dreamed up and were kind enough to invite me to participate in. At it's core, The Shoot Share is a styled photo shoot and networking event that is created around a theme that is kept secret until the day of the event. The Shoot Share is open to photographers of all experience levels, and is a place to try new things, build portfolios, and ask their peers questions.
The inspiration for our first The Shoot Share was the Shakespeare play "A Midsummer Night's Dream." I still have the notebook I wrote in during our first planning meeting, and I think our vision was reflected in the final result. We initially used words like "dreamy," "ethereal," and "lush"- which I think translates beautifully into these images.
We are already planning the second Shoot Share event for this upcoming January, and I could not be more thrilled. The theme is something classic and incredibly close to my heart.
Nikki and Ashley, THANK YOU for being my partners in crime and for letting me share these beautiful images!
