Our office has been a disaster area since this time last year. We started collecting items large and small for our wedding... and a lot of them were still hanging out until recently. We also have a spare bedroom, and depending on which room was more important at the time, the junk just shifted back and forth.
We (I) finally got super tired of it, and went on a purging spree. We threw away or sold a TON of stuff. I still feel like we have quite a bit of "extra" stuff in there (papers, yearbooks, other random miscellaneous goods) but it's progress!
Here is an "almost done purging" photo: Mind you, I have a LOT of craft stuff and an ever-growing collection of glassware and photo shoot props that aren't going anywhere anytime soon... but we're getting there!
We decided to best way to clean out the office would be to switch up our desk situation, take everything out, and only bring the necessary stuff back in.
Jordan has been wanting a certain desk from IKEA for quite a while. Thanks to some quick Craigslist action, I scored one for him for less than 1/3 of the original price. I took his old desk (which has a little bit of a parsons table feel to it) and we're going to find my old desk a new home.
Here is the "kind-of after purging" photo:
And here is a really sad photo of my really sad desk area:
Pretty terrible, right?
Now I'm trying to figure out where to go from here. I've got a plan that involves a few key things: paint, art, organized storage.
Check out a little inspiration board preview of what I want this space to be for me. Something pretty, serene, and somewhere that I WANT to spend time.
What do you guys think of my inspiration? I'm super in love, and know it's going to be rad when it all comes together.
JB is going to be out of town quite a bit this summer. It may be a slow process to get the office done by myself, but we'll get there! That just means I can do whatever I want, right?!?!
I can't wait to show you all how it looks when it comes together!
