photo: The Gathering Season
Damn, you guys. Somehow it's already April and I just now feel like I'm starting to get my head on straight after the whirlwind of 2015.
After all was said and done, I was able to flower for 55 couples in 2015, while working a day job until September. In retrospect, I'm not really sure how I did it, but I did and it was wonderful. I had the support of some really incredible people, awesome clients, and a lot of luck.
The "off" season was incredible and productive and restful all at the same time for me. I feel as though the term "off season" is pretty deceptive-- sure, I had a bit more time to kick back and relax, but this was not a stagnant season in my life. Between photo shoots I was asked to collaborate on, tax season, updating all of the back end paperwork and contracts for my business, sourcing new vases + sources for flower, and making a new business plan for the growth of this business of mine, I was anything but OFF.
It was so nice to be able to really dig into processes and the policies of my business and tweak them to better fit the direction in which I'm headed. (More on that SOON.) I was able to prepare my mind, my new office (!), my supplies and all of the other things needed to fully ready myself for the season!
This past weekend was the last one I'll have off until the end of July, when we'll celebrate my Pop's 80th birthday, sit on our deck until it's totally dark outside, and probably binge watch all the Netflix I'll be missing out on until then. As good as "off" season was to me, I'm ready to create for all of the INCREDIBLE couples that I have the honor of working with this year. I'm nervous, as I always am, because I want to do my best for each of these couples. But with the rad people I'm able to work with, their incredible visions and taste, it's kind of like "Wedding Season Eve" around here, to be honest!
I'm excited to be back in the swing of things, sharing more wedding work here on the blog with you, and sharing all of the moving and shaking we're doing!
Happy wedding season, you guys!
