Meet our Team!
Amanda Burnette, owner + lead designer
My name is Amanda, and I'm lead flower brain around these parts. I've been into creative pursuits for my entire life- from hot gluing random household objects together as a kid to now making a living by playing with the colors and textures flowers provide. In 2012, I married Jordan, and we have two pugs- Ollie and Miri. In the few years since buying our house, we've grown to fancy ourselves gardeners, (#burnettefarms) where my goal is to grow interesting flower varieties and LOTS of tomatoes!
I'm really into baking pies, hugging my dogs, and binge watching mindless shows. I'm really good at painting my own nails and have an affinity for tragically expensive candles and vegan ice-cream.
Meredith Hill, right hand woman
Hey there, I'm Meredith! Aside from flowering alongside Amanda, I'm an artist and designer, owning and running my own artwork business; Lightbox Print Co., with my husband James. We create screen printed pieces of art of things we love (as most artists do) based off our own photographs and illustrations. Recently we've been making prints of all sorts of different flowers (hello creative worlds colliding!). I've always been a creator at heart, and see floral design as its own unique art form - one that's super fun and fulfilling for me to be a part of while helping Amanda with such gorgeous creations.
When I'm not making pieces of (print and floral) art, I'm probably in our kitchen, making pieces of culinary art. J/K, but really... I'm a sucker for anything Thai related, extremely spicy, or just a good old fashioned taco. I also love to travel and explore new places, landscapes, cuisines and cultures. I'm a Virginia Tech Hokie and do in fact, bleed orange and maroon, and I hope to one day soon also have my own dog babies to snuggle.
Anna Thompson, design assistant
My name is Anna and when I'm not helping Amanda with florals I'm running my creative studio that I run with my sister called Palindrome Creative Co. We provide design and photography services to businesses locally and beyond. I recently moved to Richmond from NYC where I was a book designer at Penguin Random House. Most days you can find me working on design projects and finding any excuse to hand letter sketches on paper instead of the choosing fonts on the computer. I love working with different inks and paints to achieve a unique and personal result for my projects.
